Perform wherever and whenever you can.
If there are Casinos in your area, call and ask to speak with the person that books local talent, and request an audition.
Casino audiences are very receptive to new talent.

That's great! You know what? Right now, aspiring artists are using the internet to get attention. Do you have a myspace? Or upload some YouTube videos of you and your talent. That'll probably help. Tell your friends and family. Try hard to spread the word. Perform at your local festivals or community events. Good luck!

I'm an aspiring artist as well, but I've learned that the cardinal rule is to make connections and just know a lot of people.
