A very well thought out question...I like these!
First off, I must address a point you made about God "always" existing. God created the Universe we all live in, and time as we understand it is a function of the universe. Which is to say that God created time. This is how He has always been there...He exists on a plane/dimension (whichever you prefer) where time does not apply. Since our experience of time is entirely subjective we have no basis to comprehend the true nature of His existence. This is a limitation on our part and in no way disproves the existence of a Creator.
The other thing is that both sides have evidence aplenty...we just can't agree on which parts to accept or on how the evidence applies or should be interpreted. Again, we're only human.
None of this should preclude an ongoing discussion of the evidence as it comes in, but I'll agree with you that all of the name calling and mud slinging is completely unnecessary (even if it is kinda fun sometimes!).

"So christians tell atheists that something can't come from nothing and yet say that God always existed..."
I guess it is impossible for you to understand God. When an un-believer asks, "Then who created God?", they are putting human terms and conditions on God. Think of it logically and scientifically. This is a hypothesis proposed by Dr. Hugh Ross, PhD. Physics and Astronomy. It says: "We Humans exist on a unidimensional, unidirectional time line. For us time is a straight line in one direction. It always goes forward. God however can exist in at least a 2-dimensional time frame. In this instance time is an infinite plane. If you superimpose time as it is for us (our universe) on this plane it starts at the origin and goes off in a single positive direction (along the horizontal axis). However, for God that plane is his existance. Therefore he has no beginning, no end and was not created. "He always was and always will be." Sound familiar?"
Here is an essay written by Dr. Walt Brown (PhD. M.I.T. M.E.)which asks a question that no atheist can answer. Can you?
Please point to a strictly natural process that creates information. What evidence is there that information, such as that in DNA, could ever assemble itself?
Codes are produced only by intelligence, not by natural processes or chance. A code is a set of rules for converting information from one useful form to another. Examples include Morse code and braille. Code makers must simultaneously understand at least two ways of representing information and then establish the rules for converting from one to the other and back again.
The genetic material that controls the physical processes of life is coded information. Also coded are complex and completely different functions: the transmission, translation, correction, and duplication systems, without which the genetic material would be useless, and life would cease. It seems most reasonable that the genetic code, the accompanying transmission, translation, correction, and duplication systems were produced simultaneously in each living organism by an extremely high intelligence.
Likewise, no natural process has ever been observed to produce a program. A program is a planned sequence of steps to accomplish some goal. Computer programs are common examples. Because programs require foresight, they are not produced by chance or natural processes. The information stored in the genetic material of all life is a complex program. Therefore, it appears that an unfathomable intelligence created these genetic programs.
Life contains matter, energy, and information. All isolated systems, including living organisms, have specific, but perishable, amounts of information. No isolated system has ever been shown to increase its information content significantly. Nor do natural processes increase information; they destroy it. Only outside intelligence can significantly increase the information content of an otherwise isolated system.
I've had some atheists justify their belief system by saying that although this question cannot be answered now it may be answered in the future. This is the "What if science one day proves that God doesn't exist?" argument. Well, you have to also be prepared for the opposite. "What if science one day proves that God does exist?" They will say it will never happen. I say that the former will never happen. The atheists use pseudo-science and accuse christians of doing the same thing. They say we have blind faith in the un-provable but so do they. They say they are free thinkers yet ridicule any who question them. They accuse us of being a cult but their preception and reality are 2 different things. They are the dangerous Cult. They show anger, ridicule, self-centeredness, and closemindedness to all who question them . Thank God they are the minority.

This, I don't think really answers the ?(well maybe with the difference aspect of it) but the thing that I find interesting, is that 98%(always some exceptions to the rule) of theists are 100% certain that God is real, however I haven't met a single atheist who is 100% certain that a God doesn't exist. Just an interesting thing that I found out..

Ultimately whilst neither side has any decent evidence for what they say (in regard to whether god exists or not) there is quite a bit of evidence against various religions including Christianity and Islam and no evidence against atheism.
There is also the fact that the burden of proof in a debate between theism and atheism falls on the theist (i.e. if the theist can't prove a god exists the atheist wins by default).

Because, as an atheist, if I don't have an answer I don't make one up. I prefer to say, "I don't know." However, to say that the christian god is the "first cause" is as valid as saying that Mithras is. It's intellectually dishonest to believe in a god when there is absolutely nothing that indicates that one or more exists.

it seems that humans have a lot of curiosity concerning our origins when something that old we will probably never know even with the help of technology. we believe too much, as in we believe too hard and headstrong, sometimes making us blind to other ideas and thats what has happened, we could advance forward as a race a lot faster if we could just accept each others ideas and not firmly believe in one set belief

Sorry, but you've committed a fallacy. Atheists DO have evidence. Scientific theory is built from facts and evidence. We have chemists, astronomers, biologists, etc. finding new evidence each day.
The Bible is a fairy tale that many take quite literally. It's not about fighting. It's about not allowing religion to enter into our laws and our schools; it's about the majority attempting to control the minority and why we have to defend ourselves. I respect others' beliefs and I should hope that they have some respect for my DISbelief. Atheism, remember, is not a belief, it is a lack of belief in gods.

Well, here's my answer for the atheist thing. Humanity's technology hasn't developed enough to know the truth. It will, over another thousand years or so.
