Well...I don't always but I sure try to! :o)
I guess I keep a good attitude through being enthusiastic. My past had contained many sorrows and troubles but I noticed that once I started being enthusiastic about stuff that the bad stuff stopped for the most part...how very strange, right? I don't think my life really changed all that much but I sure did...
This also helps me at times:
"Somebody said that it couldn’t be done,
But, he with a chuckle replied
That "maybe it couldn’t," but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with a bit of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.
Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you’ll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it";
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle right in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That "couldn’t be done," and you’ll do it."
- Edgar A. Guest
Keep a smile! :o)
Oh - most of my most fervent prayers are answered...but, like you said, sometimes not the way I want. One other thing that might help with that is to try and see things the way your Father in Heaven sees things...keep an eternal perspective! :o)

Simple to say, hard to practice, but you have to accept that what God has in mind is much better than what you had in mind. You may not be able to see or understand what all the consequences of your request would be but God knows and if you believe in him enough to ask, you need to believe in him enough to accept that when he denies you a fervent request, he has a good reason!

Sometimes God doesn't answer the prayers the way WE want them to be answered because He has a different plan and will for us.
We are only human, He is the Almighty, Ever-Knowing.
Just go with the flow, pray for His will to be done, not yours.
It may be hard, but your obedience will be rewarded.

By reviewing the prayers and trying to figure out what I'm supposed to be learning from the experience, instead of wishing it were different...

Prayer is like "dice." You never know when they will come up "7" or "11....."
The attitude isn't affected because I know at least I put out the EFFORT....

When we look back upon the past and remember how much prayerlessness there has been in one's own life, words of criticism of others wither away on the lips.

Try praying for something else.
Pray the sun comes up tomorrow. It will be answered.

God knows what is best for us. His answers are not always what we want. We've just got to keep trusting in him.
