Yes! I totally understand what you are talking about. After working all week, I need a morning to sleep and relax instead of rushing out the door yet again. I too wish churches would have afternoon services. If services were in the afternoon, I would go to church almost every Sunday. Not many churches have Sunday evening services. Great question!

I'm not a morning person either! I can think of several reasons why many churches choose to hold services so early...
Tradition...farmers (for example) are already in the habit of rising early. Literal interpretation of certain verses in the bible (e.g., "early will I see thee" as if there is something special about early morning). Football season hurts attendance at later services. ...lots of possibilities.
However, not all churches meet at 8 AM...10 is also a common time for single-service churches...and there are a growing number of "multiple-service" churches. My church has services at 5 and 6:30 PM on Saturday and 8:30, 10, 11:30 and 1:00 on Sunday...AND we broadcast services on the Internet at 7 PM on Saturday and 11 AM on Sunday!

At my church, we have Saturday late afternoon service (5pm) over by 6:15 (6:30 at the latest...) and two Sunday morning services, 9 and 11 am. We also have a Spanish speak service at 1:30.
What about Sunday evening service?
There's also Wednesday evening services and if you get plugged into a community group through your church...then that is another opportunity for bible study.
I hope that helps!

I would love to go to church more too...IF I didnt have to get all dressed up or get up so early. So I have the same feelings about it too. I dont think that you have to go to church to be a christian and praise the Lord. But churches are chaning everyday and having different service hours. We have some that even have services on Saturday afternoons. And they all advertise come as you are...ok Im coming in my pajamas and no make up on...do you think everyone would stare???

I agree with you 100%. I've always thought a longer service in the afternoon would be much better. I only go to Wed. night and Sunday night services because of our schedule. That kept my choices of what church I could go to small because around here a lot of the churches only have Sunday morning services.

No. There are many churches where I live that have sunday morning and sunday night services and I won't attend either of them. I don't have any intrest in the imaginary friend in the sky.

Sounds to me like your dedication to Jesus needs a sprint advance. in the journey that your concepts-set approximately going to Church is definitely one of criminal accountability and not for the affection of Christ you ought to reconsider your dating to God.

lol yeah it would be convenient.
You shouldn't work on Saturdays, it is the original Sabbath and I think it's supposed to get you all rested up for church the next day.
