No, it appears to be a naturally occurring sexual orientation, and when indulged in by mutually consenting adults hurts NOBODY.

EDITED TO ADD: A list of animals who naturally display homosexual behavior:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_animals_displaying_homosexual_behavior

So apparently it's not that unnatural at all...

Homosexuality seems to do little to nothing to further life as a function of procreative sex.

It does seem to be natural behavior for about 2 per cent of all human populations.

My own conclusion is that the sexual function simply does not fully mature in all people. Sometimes it stops short and doesn't get beyond ones own image. And like nearsightedness, it is just the way it is. I see incompleteness, not perversion.

Whether this incompleteness could be developed is under debate, but it doesn't seem like it can. No amount of work makes nearsightedness go away.

Huh? 'perversion' is sooooo much nicer than abomination. Seriously, I probably have some sexual predilections that would be considered perversions - big woop (frankly I just view those as discriminating tastes or my own personal taste for exploration). I think the OT word of abomination was just harshly judgmental and added absolutely zero illumination to the topic.

Edit: and let's be honest...that's the fundamentalist approach to most science. If The Bible says there was a global flood, there was a global flood, end of discussion! Why bother with external evidence?

Edit: Ganja Claus, so would a string of pearls be a perversion? Oral? Masturbation? That's a pretty small box you live in. I think the purpose of pleasure was to encourage reproduction - we get plenty of reproduction. Yet to say we'll only have pleasure when we're producing offspring seems just plain antideluvian.

This is a tricky question... there is research going on that points to biological traits making up individuals that are homosexual. If this is true then no... God made them so, why would he create perversion if that is the case? I have heard homosexual testimony and it sounds like hell. I can't understand why people would choose that but, I can't even solve a rubics cube.

It's called an abomination, and I suppose perversion would also fit. It's also in the New Testament. 1 Cor.6:9.
Why are you asking us this if you already know the Bible says it is?
It doesn't matter what we say it is. It only matters what God says it is.

If homosexuality is normal, what would have happened if everyone was born homosexual? How would God's instruction in Genesis 1 of "be fruitful and multiply" be acted out? Even if you take God out of it, how would there be procreation, if someone is truly homosexual? If they really are, then under NO circumstances would they hetereosexual sex because it would be perversion to their natural self.

I admit to being slightly homophobic....the very idea makes my skin crawl but I think that is a rather natural reaction as well as being a result of my upbringing. I don't have the same reaction to female homosexuality :)

However I disagree with the idea that it is a perversion.

1) Gay people don't choose to be gay. Why would they ? If you were turned on by girls why would you instead choose to be an outcast, risk disease, not be able to easily raise a family, and on top of that have to have sex with a guy. So obviously gay people are made by nature and it isn't just a perverts choice.

2) How do we know that a part of being human isn't that sometimes humans are supposed to give birth to humans who aren't naturally inclined to pro-create ? Maybe it is natures way of controlling our populations. Maybe it is natures way of creating men and women who can cross the gender gap. Maybe gay men used to be warrior types who went to war together whilst men who liked women stayed at home with the ladies !

PS I don't think anal intercourse is necessarily something that all male gays do or something that heterosexual couples never do.

Homosexuality is a HUGE sin in all 3 abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity, Islam)

why did God destroy soddom and gommorah (sp?)

Homosexuality is perversion. Man and woman were created (by God) to be together, to concieve children together, and to be married as man and wife. Everyone has a mother and father, not 2 mothers, and not 2 fathers. According to God's word, it is an ABOMINATION for man or a woman to have sex with their same sex. It is not what God intended, nor will it ever be acceptable in God's eyes.

It depends on who you ask. To a homosexual...homosexuality is a perfectly legitimate lifestyle.

It's also rampant in the animal kingdom.

To a hate-monger it might be considered a perversion...I guess it all depends on your definition of perverse.

Yes but not only in the old test. but the new. check Paul's writings. Homo's choose it. it is not forced on them, it normally is the first time by another pervert but not after that if they continue.
