I've used baking soda instead of tooth paste since I was 4 and haven't had a problem with sensitive teeth. My dentist says that I have the fewest cavities she's seen and great gums.
Just to rest your mind, call up any dentist and ask them the question. I'm sure they'd say you're okay.

A little baking soda is okay, just take it in moderation. The amount they put into the whitening toothpastes is not all that much.

Also...if you're talking about using lemon juice for whitening your teeth....STOP! I had a friend who used to drink lemon water all day long to help her increase her daily intake of H2O. Well, after about a year of it she was having terrible tooth pain and upon visiting the dentist found out it was the lemon juice eating away her enamel. On top of that, she had to have extensive dental work to repair the terrible stains the juice left on her front teeth.

Good Luck!

Yeah, baking soda can wear down the enamel on your teeth. Not sure about the lemon juice, but yuck :P

Baking soda did cause my teeth to be sensitive. I would only do that once a week. Really I would just get an inexpensive whitening kit. Buy a store brand kit and it won't be quite as hard on your teeth.

Hope this helped.

Baking soda take the enamel off your teeth and cause you teeth to crack. Do not use. Get a teeth whiten from the store or go to your dentist.

I know this from experience and expense dental cost.

HI,
FIRST, LEMON JUICE IS VERY BAD FOR YOUR TEETH.
WHY?
IT ERODES THE ENAMEL AND WEAR IT AWAY. YES IT MAY MAKE YOUR TEETH WHITER, BUT ONCE ERODED AWAY IT WON'T COME BACK.
BAKING SODA DOESN'T CAUSE SENSITIVITY, BUT BRUSHING TOO HARD WITH A FIRM OR HARD BRISLTLE BRUSH WILL CAUSE SENSITIVITY - NO MATTER WHAT YOUR TOOTHPASTE.
