There are tons of things to know, but for a beginner here's an easy reliable strategy that will be much fun. DONT THINK- what you need to do is put some kind of meat (worms, cut bait, crickets, hot dogs, blah blah) on a hook and throw it in the water and wait. As you get more practice with these basics, then you will refine your technique. But not now, just enjoy and dont sweat it. Make sure you have your fishing license. Maybe its sexist of me, but all girls asking fishing questions get a star from me.

I have fished my whole life, and it would take a long time to tell you everything I have learned. I am still learning new things all the time. I like to get up early on the weekends and watch fishing shows, you will learn a lot from the pro's.
best thing I could advise, is to have fun, and remember "a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of working"

There are so many ways to fish, but the easiest would be to just fish with worms and try to catch whatever may be hungry, With the excessive warm weather we have had , it probably won't be a real good first experience, but I'm sure you will catch at least a few bluegill or maybe a catfish. The important thing is to just relax and enjoy your first fishing trip. Hopefully, it will be one that you will always remember. GOOD LUCK!

If you want to catch catfish use a semi big hook with worms, minnows, and leeches. When you see the bobber going down and feel a bite jerk the like side to side to get the fish hooked while jerking reel some line in try to lift up the make sure you dont lose the fish. if you caught one use a net to bring it in if it is the right size u can take it home to eat( if it is edible) for more tip email me at merasal94@yahoo.com

the #1 thing to do is be patient. dont use a floater, fish stay at the bottom of the water. go fishing at early morning or late night, thats when fish eat the most. bring some bug spray too
