I just recently enlisted. I went in to the recruiting station and i told them i wanted to join. They will take care of you from there. That day i went in they administered a mini practice ASVAB they said it would take 45min-60min but i finished it about 25 minutes its pretty simple stuff.Depending on how prepared you are to take the real ASVAB they took me to MEPS like 2 days after. They took me to MEPS twice one to take the test then a second to get weighed and do the physcial. After you passed the pyshical which isnt much of a physical they make you like stand on one foot and jump up and down and squat and stand on your toes, real basic stuff. And they have to examine your body and i REALLY mean examine it in detail its not that bad though. After you pass all that then you will be sent to a NAVY career counselor and you will choose your rate, sign your contract, and get your ship date.

Navy...Smart choice young man. My two sons chose the Navy also, & were in the delayed entry program. That meant that right after high school graduation, they headed off to boot camp. You go see a Navy recruiter, & he will tell you all that you need to know. Ask any questions that you may have at that time or call him later.

Your recruiter would be happy to tell you what the PT test requirements will be. Plus such info is available on the web.
Unless you want to see combat and hang out with marines in a combat zone, I suggest avoiding the Medic rating. You can study for the ASVAB by going to the library and checking out study guides for the quiz.
Very well worth it.

You convince your parents to sign the waiver. If they don't, you have to wait until your 18th birthday.

If you actually want to leave right after high school, you'll need to enlist before graduation, because there will be a wait betwen MEPS and basic.
