well I've never read such a description of Heaven in the Bible but i do hear alot of Christians say that the streets are paved in gold. I think it's just made up to sway people one way or the other. Just like Muslim men i believe are promised 10 virgins in heaven, but that doesn't seem to make much sence seeing as how when you die and go to heaven you are a spirit and spirit beings don't have the same desires as humans. So what the heck would a spirit care about having 10 virgins??/ But see it's not the spirits that want it it's the humans who are here now that want it. So of coarse it has to look appealing to humans.

what a big and biased assumption. As if money that helps people survive is less important to other religions?

but to your first question, money is man made, it has no use in heaven, there will be unity. But gold is simply pretty, like all the other beautiful things God has made, and thus would make nice streets. I hardly think walking all over gold all day illudes to the fact that it will be something to be lusted over, it seems the opposite. I don't walk all over my dollars...lol

maybe because people think it is pretty...after all people make all sorts of things out of gold on earth. ...and if they can make streets out of it that's a pretty good indication that it isn't considered all that valuable in heaven...after all, when was the last time you saw an asphalt wedding ring?

Interestingly, the Bible doesn't say that heaven's streets are paved in gold.
