i am about to buy this car a 95 acura integra rs model the interior is great it runs good and seems to good to be good, the only problem i have is the millage they posted that the car had 73k miles on it but when i ran it on carfax, it says it has 163k on it, i don't know if i want to buy it anymore. i know after 100k there is alot of things that need to be replaced and cars tend to break down around this period. should i walk away or say i want it for a lower price. also i know this type of car are good in the long run and they are reliable they want 4000 for it.
thanks for any info

Yes honda and acura's are great use cars even when they are twenty years old , i would not give $4,000 for it i would give about $1500 for one with over 160 k on it, yes you are right after a car gets over 100,000 miles on it starts to drain your pocket book, $4,000 is too much.

I would not buy it--4 grand is too much for this car with decent milage, besides, did the odometer stop working or were they trying to sell it as if it had 73k? Sounds fishy. Buy from a private party, and orginal owner that took care of it and has the records to prove it.

Hire an independent LOCAL(!) inspections company like this one: http://www.anti-lemon.com BEFORE you buy. If they are good, they will be able to tell you is mileage is correct, and if anything needs to be done. Don't assume that mileage is directly related to some major expenses except the timing belt ($500).

It sounds like someone has replaced the odometer in it. Maybe its been reassembled from 2 different wrecked cars privately. I would steer clear of it.

walk away. They rolled back the odometer, who knows what else they did with the car. Being an integra, they probably did mods on it and raced it...
