write sermons and sell to pastors all over the country. If you listen to several different pastors, either your own, on TV or the internet, in any given week, you will notice that a lot of them feature the same theme in the sermon. I don't mean the same words, just the same theme. This is no coincidence or miracle.

I'm not just referring to holiday themes.

no point, really, except I think people have a right to know.

Well, yes, I'm just finding that out and I must say I am disillusioned about some TV preachers---they're still good tho.

Hell, that's better than the pastor my mother listens to. He just discusses church gossip, then tries to string in Bible verses for meaning. LOL

Usually they write their sermon after prayer... if they are true, then they will actually get across what the Holy Spirit ministered to them for the congregation, not just their own 'ideas for the week'. This is why friends/family can have heard a similar sermon at the same time in a different location and different church... because the Pastors are listening to the Holy Spirit. Take care, God bless

First of all this is not true for everyone...I have been in the Ministry for over 30 years and every sermon I have preached or lesson I have taught comes from what is in my heart.

Do I hear someone say something and bring up a point in away that I have never thought of in that way? SURE I DO! But then I take the Idea and make it my own words, in away I want to say it.

You don't really think that all the songs you hear on the radio or movies you see, come from the writers original ideas do you?

There is NOTHING in this world that someone can think of that is really original, it has all been said or done before, only in different words.

Some churches even have all the subjects in order and the verses to go with them, becauce that is what the leaders have decided is importan, BUT THE SERMON OR LESSON IS IN THE PASTORS OWN WORDS.

Think about a teacher in School, do you think the teacher makes the lesson plan? Of course not, he/she follows the school guide line, but use their own words.

So what is the problem?

There is another possibility. Many churches follow a prescribed calendar of scripture readings for each week over a 3 or 5 year period. If the preacher ties his or her sermon to the scripture reading, there's bound to be similarity.

There are services such as you describe but most preachers write their own sermons.

I have sit under many pastors and when my son went to bible college he made a few bad grades and they did not let hin finish. I said son if it is on your heart to be a pastor then find a place to open and have church be ordain by god and he will lead you to the things to say stay in the word and stay faithful and pray to always do better. some have notes they use from studing some can plan a sermon and it change at the last minute do to the spirit of god leads the pastor in a different direction. as for me short and brief andlead by god is a good sermon than to sit for 1-2 hrs and the pastor goes on and on and on and you find yourself wishing you would stayed home.the tv pastors some are ok then I have to say if you are in need of prayer or need them to come to your home no they can not be of help to you. find a church go worship enjoy it and as long as you learn something it does not matter where his sermon came from as long as he stays in the bible and it helps others.

Yes I know this to be true...but Our Sermons are not for sale....nor are we passing the plate begging for money to support men that preach. All of our preachers and teacher are volunteers that spend out of their resources and money to promote the Bible in its purity. We do have outlines that number into the hundreds that are presented to the PUBLIC as discourses..(Lectures for the new ones) I love to give these to new ones so that they can hear the fresh and wonderful truths of the Bible. Many of us repeat the same great and powerful sermons of Jesus. His sermons are wonderful and lead to life. At many churches they
dance around on the platform and spew out their ideas about life and money...but Jesus words are not to be denied as the most wonderful words of wisdom of all..So next ime you hear a Sermon see if they are from men or from God.
Jehovah's Witnesses give the BEST sermons and are teacher of the WORD of God... Don't pass them by until you have heard all that they have to say from the Bible...the Power is in the Scriptures and They use them correctly..Just bring your Bible to a PUBLIC TALK and follow along...it is not make believe as many may contend... I have been a slave of the Lord for 20 years without regret...I do my own homework and my own research before I read it to the PUBLIC...so trust the ones that love God and do not fear what others say about them...
Jehovah's Witnesses are not a cult since they do not follow men but Scriptures...Cults follow men....Christians listen to Christ commandments and teach and preach..thanks for asking!!!

Dear Crabby:
I am sure this is happening, but not at my church!

Father talks without notes and has about three things he constantly preaches about. He is right in everything he says, but maybe having those packaged sermons would give us some better variety of topics.

My Pastor and our congregation relies on the holy spirit to tell him or us on what to preach on. Only the holy spirit knows what is on the minds of the congregation. So if you let the holy spirit dwell with in you then the pastor can reveal what word these people need to hear.

DO THE WILL OF GOD
You need to find a home church, be obedient, follow his word, be baptized with the holy spirit, show your self approved and do the will of God (Mark 16: 15 - 18)

Yes and my husband use to follow some of T.V's Evangelist and it was nearly word for word what was printed in that weeks study article of the Watchtower until he came across something the Evangelist disagreed with and altered the sermon.
After a few months of this my husband stopped watching the T.V. Evangelist altogether.

Yes.... you are just now figuring that out? They have entire series over 4-5 weeks or more planned out, and purchased from religious colleges and other sources that sell th sermon as well as printed or other materials to go with it.

But whats wrong with that?
