They don't like the idea that they are no more special than any other creature that lives on the earth. Doesn't make it so, though.

Why does everything need rest?
Maybe it's your own ego that leads you to believe you have personally witnessed all possibilities?
Eternity is logical, there is no reason to believe time will end.
What is complex is whether we will exist to see it.
Which just depends on your perception.
Does the human existence hold a place beyond the physical body?
The failed operation Ankh hints that it was. Life can only come from life, even in a laboratory setting, and no one is quite sure why.
Maybe there is something more to life than a machine.
In fact, science says that there is.
We just don't know what.

Because they do. We don't die for real. We just transform. According to science, matter is neither created nor destroyed. That includes us. It includes our consciousness too because it exists. Therefore it too is matter in some way or another. The size of the universe is infinate. No one has confirmed that yet, but it is because existence is infinite. There is no end and no begining. It's forever and forever never dies.

I don't believe in heaven, but it is described as perfect bliss. So, by definition, it would not be boring.
I'm content to go down for the permanent dirt nap when I die.
At least I don't have the fear of hell.

This life has an end but we were informed by the Messengers of God that he next life does not. That where we end up eternally depends on our state of belief in this life before we die.

The creator put it in your heart.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Those of us that believe in eternity, know the truth and it has set us free. We have hope of the future, what do you have? Some believe that death is the grave.
I believe hell would be any place without the living God.
