Walgreens??? I'd be very concerned. I vaccinate my dogs, but I always get their vaccines at the vets office.
If you are unsure of how to give the injection, have your vet show you or tell you how.
Please be careful what you put in your dog!

you bought vaccines for a dog at walgreens? where the heck do you live? they are not licensed to carry actual pet vaccines. i'm sure i can't get my kid's measels vaccine there can i? if it is labeled for IM use only you are going to have to give it there to be protected. and since you do not have dog training the safest place to give a dog IM injections is in the hind leg, but do you know how to miss the nerve? if you do not, take your walgreen kit back to your vet and have them administer it. and find a new vet and move to a new town because i find all of it very hard to believe.
and sure any fool can buy vaccines, but i have never ever ever ever heard of walgreens or any place like that opening themselves up to the possiblity of lawsuits that could follow by carring dog vaccines. you spent the time and money to have your vet administer rabies and examine your dog, really how much more was the distemper shot at that time? $10??? come on now. and yeah you can buy vaccines at farm supply stores, but you do not get the guarantee that you can get from vaccines from your vet. you have no clue how the vaccines are stored, and often they are the cheaper brands that are less effective and have way more side effects. but go ahead i mean saving a few bucks is worth it right? geeeez. i'm just shaking my head. i'm gonna have to call walgreens. lol

I wasn't aware that Walgreens sold animal vaccines. No inexperienced person should be giving injections of any type to an animal, particularly a young animal. There are too many thing that can go wrong and you won't know how handle it. Giving the vaccine is the least of it, what happens if this puppy has a vaccine reaction? It does happen and can be quite severe, even deadly. Take that puppy to a licensed veterinarian!

Are you sure you got the right vaccine? How old is your puppy? You can give the Distemper vaccine yourself - that is given near the shoulder blades. If you're not sure how to give the vaccine then why not visit the Vet? Usually puppies need an exam and possibly a deworming if you haven't gotten that yet. Be careful with giving the shots yourself and make sure you visit the Vet when your pup is 14-16 weeks old - that's when they can get their first Rabies vaccine and that can't be purchased at any store.

You bought dog vaccines from Walgreens?
Seriously, if you don't know how to give the shot, take the pup to the vet and let him do it. Afterall, they didn't go to veterinary school for nothing...

That's impossible that you could have bought dog vaccines from Walgreen's. Only veterinarians and some breeders have access to vaccinations. Your puppy needs to be taken to a licensed veterinarian for a proper puppy exam and for the proper vaccines.

Walgreen's? What vaccine is it? Distemper vaccines are available at Farm&Fleet. But if you don't know how you should probably learn before vaccinating your puppy.
if you decide to vaccinate him anyway: clean his neck w/rubbing alcohol, and make sure there are no air bubbles, and push the vaccine in SLOWLY.

Let your vet do it. You may make a mistake, you may break the needle inside of the pup.
