If you eat something light it is not that bad, overall it depends on the total amount you have eaten during the whole day.
When I was on a diet I would wake up at 3am hungry, and I could not go back to sleep. So I got up and ate a fat free hot dog on whole wheat bread,
Now I like to snack on some low sugar, high fiber cereal, or popcorn, I have even had a single serving of frozen low fat ice cream with grapenuts and pineapple or blueberries, and fat free hot fudge, I large tablespoon.
The trick is not to over eat, and sleep they have found if you are tired you eat more.

Snacking in the afternoon is OK. At night, not so good because your body is going to be inactive and will not burn the calories. Are you craving this late or are you hungry? If you are hungry, you are not eating enough during the day. If you are craving, depending of what you crave you are having a vitamin or so deficiency. Try eating well and take a multivitamin. See if the craving goes away. Yogurt is good as long as is sugar free. Great to have plain yogurt with some nuts inside. My favorite!

What is probably happening is that your experiencing nutrional cravings. I would suggest you take a good multi vitamin, not a one-a-day or centrim. You need to visit a health food store or nutrional store and get a vitamin in liquid , powder or capsule form. A multi vitamin with herbs and minerals would be what you will need. Your body is craving something and it's probably lacking nutrion. Yogurt is a good choice but you most likly need something else.

Yes...especially if you eat the wrong thing. If you eat at all...eat some protein because your body will burn that off easily...like sliced turkey, chicken, fish, etc.
