I wanted to ask all of you how you would decorate the hall I've rented for my wedding reception so that it would reflect a fall theme! Here's a link with the pictures: http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fei%3DUTF-8%26p%3Dwomen%2527s%2Bclub%2Bof%2Bglen%2Bridge%26fr2%3Dtab-web%26fr%3Dyfp-t-501%26js%3D1&w=240&h=180&imgurl=springintoaction.us%2Fimages%2Fwc6.JPG&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fspringintoaction.us%2Fwomensclub.html&size=37.3kB&name=wc6.JPG&p=women%27s+club+of+glen+ridge&type=jpeg&no=2&tt=3&oid=aea28a99f2468fd4&ei=UTF-8
How would you decorate the stage (Or would you even do anything with it?), the columns, the balcony, etc. Thanks!!

We did ask and we can not use tape, however the woman said that those hooks w/ sticky removable tags are allowed (which can be used the same way as tape without ruining the walls!)

I think I would keep it simple. Though I might see if they would let you change the color of some of the lighting. Some amber lights in the area under the arches would give a nice soft glow without being too bright within the room. In between the columns you could have some fall garlands of leaves and berries on grapevines.
If the stage isn't being used for anything but a backdrop, it's a great place to add a large cornicopia of harvest fruits, vegetables and flowers & foliage (fake of course) along with potted mums that you could even use as favors and be sure your guests take one before they leave.

I wouldn't go for too much decoration, I wouldn't want it to have the prom feel. I would focus my attention on the tables with nice arrangements and centerpieces.
On the stage, I would supply two taller flower displays, where the base that holds the vases mimic the columns found in the hall. This way it pulls the theme of the center pieces to the stage.
Since you have a balcony, you can really take advantage of making it a sit down/lounge area, so guest can have a place to chill but still watch the wedding. Supply a book for people to write little good luck messages for the couple. Have scrapbooks filled with pictures of both the bride & goom and both your family. You can have disposible cameras and ask guest to take pictures that you can add to your new scrapbook.

Is the DJ going to be on the stage, or are you going to have the head table on the stage? I think that would make a difference because if the DJ is on the stage you may not be able to decorate too much so he can get his equipment on and off.
Definitely some kind of fall arrangement on either side of the stage, and you could wrap the columns in ivy or fall leave swags.
It's really a pretty hall, I think wahtever you do will be beautiful. Even if you only decorated the tables I think it would be nice. I think it's really up to you how much work you want to do!
Good luck!

I would just do a loose wrapping of garland around the banister to the balcony, and the columns. Have pumpkin arrangments on your tables and some large plants sitting around, do some hay with pumkins and flowers in your colors. Are you using a large fall array of colors? Best wishes.

Did they give you restrictions on how you can decorate? Places like that won't allow you to use tape on the walls and ceilings. You need to ask what you are allowed and not allowed before you start buying all kinds of things to decorate with.

go with balloons wedding bells a big banner that says just married and lots of paper white doves will work just fine. also if u are having a band make sure that they have the stage and line your tables around so that everyone can see the brides and grooms table and u can see everyone as well...

Its very charming. Honestly, it already has nice lighting, the paint job looks fresh... I dont think it needs more decoration. Just some fall centrepieces on the tables. Less is always more.

the hall itself is so beautiful, I wouldn't really do much with decorations, because you don't need them. Just chose linens and centerpieces to match your fall theme, and call it a day.
