We had a Ford dealer do that same thing in the town that I live. Now there is no Ford dealer. I assume the bank has contacted you saying that you are two or three months behind. I would definitely contact the dealer and really get on to them. If they seem like they don't care then you may have to get a lawyer. You could always threaten them by telling them that you have talked to or will be talking to a lawyer.

They have to pay off your car, if they don't, they won't get a clear title and can't sell it. Sometimes dealers can be very slow in doing this. If all else fails, make the payment due to save your credit, when it's paid off the bank will refund you the overage. Check your contract for the new kia to make sure that they have the trade payoff in there, and make sure that number is what they end up paying.

If it was a pre-driven vehicle that you purchased, the dealer might still be waiting for the title from the bank or person who traded that car in. It can take quite awhile sometimes. The Sec. of State's office is very slow moving . It could take up to 6 months at times.

There is no excuse, however, for not paying off the lien on your trade-in. Just call them everyday if you have to and eventually it will happen.

Drive over there and talk to them.

Why would you wait 3 months for this? Have you been making payments on your old vehicle? If not, your credit is probably trashed as well.

You should not have waiting this long... 10 days and you should have been making a scene in their finance office.

go to your bank where the old loan is. find out something quick. even if they pay if off now, they'll say you owe for the past 3 mths if you don't get it settled.

If a "ford dealer" is an equivalent of "legit" in that head of yours... you are hopeless.
