If I made videos in the past and had those copyrighted. Is any video I make automatically copyrighted or do I have to copyright them individually.

What is the procees to obtain a copyright?

From what I understand, to copyright something all you have to do is put copyright and than the year, however there is another level of copyrighting which you apply for with the US government. I don't know all the advantages of each, but for anything that's not very high-level importance, the simple Copyright 2007 should be sufficient.

you remember correctly, years ago videotapes had to be registered for copyright protection. today, anything in fixed form, including video, is automatically copyrighted. You should mark "copyright" either in the video, or on the packaging material to show your intent to defend against infringement. Also, as an added layer of protection, i always submitted a free copy of my video programs to the local library for safekeeping in the event that i should lose a master i would still have evidence of fixed form for copyright.
