Unless there is far more to your mom's personality that I understand, I say, "It is not your responsibility to shield her from the truth. You are growing up and your life is developing. Just be up front." I was a single mom and my son dated during high school. I had more trouble introducing my dates to him than the other way. I knew that it is the natural thing for him to seek a relationship and wanted him to be well adjusted, loved, and happy. Hopefully, you mom will be too. If she doesn't want to share you, she may have a personality disorder.

I went Thur my share of boyfriends and girlfriends.I tried to like them all. There were only a few I didn't approve of.but,I kept it to myself.I knew my kids would see them for what they are. They never lasted long. Why are you so worried about this, does she dress goth? Does she have rings in her nose?Did you pick her up at a trailer park? You sound very mature.Your Mom will like your chose in girls.Have you girl over for dinner,no biggie maybe Pizza. And just have a good time together.Being divorced has nothing to do with anything.

she will be happy for you. Moms are really good about putting their feelings aside for their childern.
Plus, just because her relationship didnt turn out the best, that doesn't mean she doesn't want you to have a good one!!!
