Any meal you do from scratch and serve by candle light is an impressive meal. Try serving one on the floor on a table cloth in the living room, especially if you have a fire place, like a picnic style. Guys like that. I have even served hot dogs by candle light with french fries. It's what you do at the dinner that makes it romantic and impressive like eating a spaghetti noodle from both ends or a french fry, etc. Men aren't too concerned with what they eat but they do like atmosphere.

There's an urban legend that everytime a woman makes a Roasted Chicken for a man, he asked to marry her. I read that in Marie Clare magazine, and the funny thing is that I made a roasted chicken--years before I read that--for a male friend of mine; and I swear he asked me to marry him a few weeks later.

The magazine said that roasted chiden might remind men of their childhoods and their mom. I dont know.

Roasted Chicken:

--buy a whole, raw chicken from the supermarket. Also buy Adobe Seasoning & Poutry Seasoning (its green) & Pepper

--Rinse the chicken, and cut off the excess fat, pat dry

--Sprinkle the chicken ALL AROUND, heavily with the Adobe, Poultry Seasoning, Pepper

--Place in a roasting dish, and cover with a top

--BAKE on 375 for about 1 hour

While thats cooking, make some Potatoe dish--something from a box from the store--Lie Scalloped Pototoes, along with frozen veggies. Broccolis good

--Check to make sure the inside chicken leg is not still pink

I have a couple, but probably my favorite is a roast (beef) tenderloin, that I serve with a chauteaubriand sauce. I like it with roasted asparagus and an arugula salad, plus a nice bottle of red zin.
If I want to do seafood, I make a killer pasta with a seafood sauce made with fresh mussels, scallops and shrimp. That I serve with a salad of mixed field greens and a warm loaf of crusty Italian bread.

I like to broil mahi mahi that is seasoned with old bay spice and mayo with lemon. Served for my sides I enjoy olive oil angel hair pasta and steamed sugar snap peas. A nice bottle of white wine to bring out the taste in the fish and serve chocolate covered strawberrries for dessert. Yum Yum!!

Usually something from Central or Northern France.Recipies from those areas tend to have subtle but rich flavors.

For dessert I do a Tres Leches( which I do very well) served with fresh berries.

I cook either one of two things: orzo with shrimp, feta cheese, tomatoes, and fresh basil, or cous cous with tomatoes, feta, chickpeas, zucchini, onions, and chicken. I've gotten rave reviews on both!
