Why does my new SUV seem so much bigger than my car?
I just got a Land Rover Discovery 1998, I used to drive a Honda Accord and now a bmw 3 series. I have researched it and the cars are only 3-4 inches skinnier than the Rover. I like it but I feel nervous driving it and fearful of turns etc. How can I get over this? I like my Rover, just want to feel more comfortable driving it. Any suggestions? New SUV driver, Lady driver.

Well if feels bigger because it is and I am sure you feel like you are much higher up. And you should be a bit more scared about turns. 1998 Land Rover is not exactly a performance car, those Rovers were made to do alright on the road and amazing off the road. SUV like the Land Rover flip easy so you want to slow down more for a turn than you would in your BMW. A turn that you would take at 35mph in your BMW with no problem you should take at 25-30 in your rover. Its a SUV and not made to handle like a car.
Just give it time you will get used to it.

You are sitting up higher on the road, therefore the vehicle feels "larger". Just keep driving it, and as long as the airbags don't deploy, you're not hitting anything and doing a fine job.

You are higher up and it is bigger overall. I went from a car to a big rig. I am sure you can handle it.
