I have a painting of a landscape...some trees and a river and it is marked "PHLE" in the bottom left hand corner, i have tried looking it up but with no success...does anyone know what the letters stand for...or who painted it?

Hi! Just a thought. Without a style.. or a time frame.. or a signature image.. or a picture to see.. I'll just take a wild guess... could it possibly be PYLE? There are a number of artists named Pyle.. not just Howard.

I'd have to see the actual signature but using alot of initials was popular back during the 30s when the CCC came to be and the WPA.......most likely initials, even without periods between them.
