A small piece of a chip got stuck in my gums by my molar. It's really sore, and I just brushed my teeth, flossed it, and rinsed my mouth a lot. What can I do so it can stop hurting?

Alas! Nothing works better than rinsing n warm salty water..

to 8 oz pretty warm water, add like 1/2 or more salt, swish it around several seconds & spit it out..do this like 3 or 4 tims & repeat, every 4-5 hrs,, you can even gargle w/this for a sore throat...dr's recommend it..

first of all, there is no drugs that "melts" away the nerves. the only thank you to take out the nerves is thru a root canal (that is appears like your dentist did) or by way of extracting the entire the tooth- nerve and all. regrettably, it sounds possibly which you will lose the the tooth. as quickly as a root canal is finished on a molar the tooth, the the tooth itself is extra possibly to fracture. that is why dentists advise putting a crown on it. yet you probably did no longer get that some distance- the non everlasting filling got here out & you probably did no longer do something approximately it because of the fact it did no longer harm. It did no longer harm because of the fact the nerve became long previous (root canal). So it only rotted away. So now you ought to have a the tooth that is "nonrestorable" (no longer fixable). which skill extraction. FYI: that's familiar to first placed a non everlasting filling in a newly root canaled the tooth, to confirm each and every thing with the the tooth is okay in the previous you seal all of it back up back with fillings and/or a crown).
