I second Claysmom - citation machine rocks!

Remember, just because you found the reference online doesn't mean you can't now use that reference to go to the library and find it in print.

Remember too, some online sources aren't very reliable references.

if it doesn't look like this - it's wrong (MLA format). No matter what grade someone else got on a paper doing it some other way:

Harris, Robert. "Evaluating Internet Research Sources."

VirtualSalt. 17 Nov. 1997. 17 Oct 2000

.

with the second two lines indented +5

Instead of utting a book title + author you put link and make sure to check to see if it says who or what group put the information used online and put that where you would put the author if there is no person listed then just put the link oh make sure it actually looks like a link( u no in blu) even if it is on paper Trust me I have written a ton of papers and I think the lowest grade I got was about a 95

sometimes the documents state their sources, you can look for them. They might be in bracket at the end of a statement, and then listed at the end of the piece of writing. When this is not there, you can just simply write the address of the document by cutting and pasting or copying from the main address found on the main search engine window.

all the best
