If you can't hear out of it after getting out of the water or shower, there maybe water: jump up and down a few times then tilt your head down OR pour water into your ear thent ilt it to get the water.

If you can't hear after blowing your nose (especially if you do it one nostril at a time), pinch your nose to block both nostrils and blow through, you're gonna hear a pop and then you should be able to hear.

If none of these two are the cause, then go see your doctor. Don't wait.

You shouldn't be using Q-tips. They actually just push the junk further down your ear canal. If you're concerned, you should see a doctor and he can easily take a look in your ear. As far as cleaning, my doc told me to use the corner of a face cloth. You should never put anything in your ear. You can also try an ear candle. You can get them in health food stores with instructions. You won't believe what comes out of your ear.

You should get it checked out.
I have also had plenty of these situations happen to me only because I clean my ears sooooo much that I actually cause them to get irratated and cause an ear ache that will only get worst before better. Then usally with me, if i dont go to the dr. It blocks off all sound and then suddenly Ill wake up with it normal again.
I am not saying to let nature take it course, I only did because I cant afford to go to the dr's and hoped ity would go away on its own.
Try putting peroxide in your ear.. it will pop and clean. It will heal anything little that could be wrong.
good luck.

DON'T USE Q-TIPS! All they do is push ear wax down into your ear canal. And that is probably what happened this time. A doctor will have to use a curette to remove the wax or maybe even a syringe of water to dislodge the wax.

You may have wax in your inner ear canal. Q tips cant clean that far and they are usually the reason why wax gets pushed that far to begin with. Go to the doctor and if your eardrum is blocked then your wax has gotten into your inner ear canal and that may be the reason why you are deaf in your one ear.

I had this happen to me a few months ago. I kept going to the doctor and they couldnt diagnose me. Finally, one doctor said that my Eustachian Tube was clogged. I looked it up on the internet and although I did not have all the symptoms, the nasal spray he gave me did the job. Good Luck

BTW- Q-tips are a NO-NO!!

Don't use Q tips deep in the ear canal. Sounds like you have an infection (the water noise) but if it goes untreated it could affect your hearing permanently

If you are using q-tips then you could be pushing the wax against the ear drum, thus blocking the sound to your ear. Get it checked out for sure though.

Could be impacted wax or an ear infection. The cure is simple but you have to see a doctor for it.

Any loss of senses is something to be concerned about. I would see a doctor.
