Yes, they are good with kids. However, you should spend time with each dog before bringing it home to make sure it is gentle and not aggressive, since every dog has a different temperament.
Yes, they need a lot of exercise just like ALL dogs do, especially puppies, or else they will become destructive. However, as adults, beagles are quite lazy.
It doesn't matter if you get a male or female, just make sure it gets spayed/neutered!
Toys...nothing in particular, it depends on the individual dog. Some dogs like Kongs, stuffed animals, treat balls, etc.
ALL dogs should be INSIDE dogs. No dog should be left out 24/7 without human interaction. That is just cruel. SO, to answer your question, they are inside dogs! However, they should get plenty of outside time to run around and have fun.
They should be walked every day. If it is a pup, it will need to go outside every couple of hours until it is housetrained. Adult dogs should go outside at least 3 times per day.
A lot of energy...yes, they have a lot of energy as pups, however, they become lazy as adults, in general. They get to be about medium sized....15 inches, 25lbs ish.
Overall, I recommend that you get your beagle from a rescue or a shelter, and I also recommend an adult dog. While puppies are cute, they are very difficult to deal with. They take a lot of time and commitment, just like a human baby does.

Good Luck

They are great with kids (provided they don't leave the gates open)
Beagles are very good at exercising themselves.
Gender is just personal choice.
Any toy will do, they love stuffed animals.
They need both indoor and outdoor time. Unless you have a bullet proof fence they need to be on lead anytime they are outside.
They have a ton of energy
There are 13 inch and 15 inch

Beagles do not do well if left alone for long periods of time. So if no one is home all day two Beagles is far better than only one. This is because of a high pack instinct.

Never leave a Beagle unsupervised in the house, they will eat the kitchen floor. Crate it!!

Never chase a Beagle. It is natural for a Beagle to hunt in a circle chasing the rabbit back past the gun for the shot. When you move toward the Beagle you are telling it to expand the hunting circle and it will only end up farther away.

Whenever a beagle gets loose and runs off, just place it's bed outside where it can get to it. The dog will be in it's bed in the morning.

Im a a huge beagle lover and own one

Yes beagles are good with kids, they are a family dog which means they love everyone
Yes they need exercise like any dog does, they love their walks where they can sniff and explore (on a leash of course)
I have had both male and female, I havent really noticed a difference your preference.
My beagle's likes all the stuff dog toys, not really into tennis balls
Just my opinion but I believe any dog you buy or adopt is part of your family, and I personally wouldnt leave any family member outside all the time, so inside it is for me
In an ideal world everyday they should be walked and that goes for any breed of dog for at least 20 minutes.
Energy? well they are ready to go when I want to go and they also can be a couch potatoe
The size depends on if it is a pure bred or mixed. Pure bred can be 13inch 15 inch which are the most common. Beagles will eat, so you have to make sure you dont over feed them or give them table scraps cause they can get a belly.
Beagles are very cute, but they are not the easiest to train, they are strong willed and like to do what they want when they want. I STRONGLY recommend you have a fenced yard. They are a hound dog, so if they get on a scent they will take off. Also know especially if you are thinking of getting a puppy they are known to howl. Some ppl can find this quiet annoying, mine only howls if she hears sirens, but I have had others that howl alot.
The beagle is a very loveable, cute dog, just do your research to see if this dog meets your needs and that you can meet the dogs needs. Obedience training is highly recommend when bringing home any new dog. Good luck hope you find your perfect pet and buddy.

-They are very good with kids
-They don't need a lot of exercise, but all dogs do need some
-Either male or female is good, but if you get a male, one male in the house hold is enough!
-My beagle likes plush, squeaky toys
-They are inside dogs
-If you can let them run outside, walking is not a huge necessity
-They don't have too much energy
-The biggest they get is 21 inches

My other tips on beagles:
-Don't buy one in a pet store, they will not be A grade dogs. Getting a beagle, you could get a A grade dog, or an F grade dog. Getting them from an upstanding breader would be the smartest thing to do.
-Beagles do need attention. The best would be if it has a companion, like another dog for it to play with

For several of these questions, you will only be able to find an accurate answer by spending time with the specific dog in question.

Some beagles are very impatient; if you have young or mischevious children who might pull ears or tails, there may be a problem. Others are very quiet tempered. Mine was lazy, though she went through a few periods (growth spurts, maybe?) where she was INSANEly hyper.

I won't cover all your questions, since I've seen good answers for many things. But I must share this very important clarification: there is a difference between smart and blindly obedient.

A lab is considered to be a very bright dog. A lab is a very obedient dog. Most would jump off a cliff if you told them.

A beagle is often thought of as less bright. In truth, a beagle is STUBBORN. She is TOO smart to obey 'just because'. If there is another option more enticing, she will make her own choice.

So, if you're after devotion and instant obedience, you don't want a beagle. Think of a beagle as something more like a long-eared howling cat.

Wonderful animals; but like any animal, not for everyone.

Are they good with kids? YES
-do they need a lot of excersise? YES - LOTS
-male or female? EITHER (I THINK MALES HAVE MORE PERSONALITY)
-which toys do they like? THEY'RE NOT FUSSY
-inside or outside dogs (I have room for both) DEFINITELY INSIDE
-How often should they be walked? EVERY DAY
-A lot of energy? THEY ARE NOT HYPER
-how big to they tend to get? BEAGLES LOVE THEIR FOOD AND AS A RESULT THEY TEND TO GET TOO FAT. 24-28 POUNDS

Beagles are really very hard to train, and are not the best dog for pets. They are working dogs and bred for hunting, and that instinct gets in the way of their performance as a pet.

All the beagles ive ever had managed to escape and get lost in search of that wonderful smell they found.

There are small and large beagles, depending on the type.

They are high energy dogs and until they reach their senior years require a lot of exercise.

A beagle outside will always try to escape, and beagle inside will always try to get out.

Theyre not bright dogs, in the sense that they dont solve problems like a collie or husky might.

They can be great with kids, especially females.

They are however a poor choice for families. Not the worst, just not the best there is. They are a lot of work, mostly just frustriating. I personally do not enjoy hounds of any kind, they are more trouble than they are worth in my opinion.

Yes
Yes
Either
Anything chewable
Either, but why have a dog if its going to live outside? (mine was inside)
As often as any other breed
Medium
Medium sizes either 13" or 15"

They are stubborn, not stupid. If you done have a fenced in yard you will need to be outside with him/her with him/her on a long lead. Their hunting instincts kick in and they will be off and running. They are wonderful little dogs but not the best in obedience. Look up beagles and see what their characteristics are and make a decision from there.

if a beagle is raised with kids around, i'm sure it'll be fine with them.

they need a good amount of excersize but i'm sure they don't need a lot.

i don't think they have a preference in toys.

i'd say make sure it goes outside but i can be both an indoor and outdoor dog.

i'd walk it atleast once or twice a day.. they don't have to be too long but long enough for it to go to the bathroom.

Beagles have a lot of energy.

They can get to be about 30ish lbs.

Hi Miss Understood:

A Beagle is a beautiful dog, my second favorite race. Yet, you need to know a few things. They are hunters, so they need a lot of activity and outdoors.

They do not grow big, they are medium dogs. Personally, I like female dogs because males pee everywhere to mark their territory. The only thing with females is you have to operate them once you don't want them to have more offspring. Hope this helps.
