I woke up this morning..
To find my 4 month old male kitten, with a swolen paw.
It's at least triple the size it normally is.
He's licks it occasionally, but nothing else..
It doesn't appear to be broken, he limps around on it...
I have no clue what to do...
Help!

check the paw for a puncture wound. He might have an infection. You need to take him to the vet to make sure he is okay. Also make sure your cat has had all the immunization shots he needs.

You didn't say if this was an inside or outside kitten, but it sounds like an insect sting. He could have been stung by a scorpion, or if outside, a snake bite. But, I would think that he would show more symptoms if it were a snake bite. Check around on his paw, and see if you can find a red "dot". It could be that there's still a stinger in it. If so, get some tweezers and gently pull it out. If he'll let you, put an ice pack on it, to take the swelling down. Good luck.

It sounds like a bee sting, my cats hate bees and try to kill them all the time, so i see it quite a bit. I would take him to the vet anyway just to make sure. You never know, it could be something much worse.
By the way, I would try icing it for a bit.
Good Luck!

Just because hes bearing weight on it does not mean its not broken. Also check for a sting or bite wound. If he goes outside most likely he was bitten by another cat. Cat bites can be pretty nasty. Defiantly take him to the vet.

I suggest you take it to the vet. I could have a sprained paw from jumping from a object and landing incorrectly.

for sure take him to the vet... if he goes outside a bee could've stung him, or stepped on something bad.
or maybe an infection from kitty litter? maybe got into a cut or something?
at least the vet can guide you in the right direction :)

It could be sprained or broken, for now try not to let him walk on it too much and call your vet right away.
good luck!

check the pads, they could be cracked and sore. also, check in between its toes and at the base of each pad. you may have to wrap your kitty in a towel to keep from getting scratched if you hit a tender spot.

there are a number of things that could be wrong. it could be broken even though it doesnt look it, it could be sprained, or there could be something stuck inside it that is making it infected or something else.
