Well you are being dishonest to your Gramma. As for the goodwill store you could bring it back and give it to the manager but it is doubtful that the original owner will come in and claim it. Goodwill will then just pocket the money. You could try explaining it to your Gramma that way and she what she says. Think about this though. What is more important the $20.00 or your Gramma's respect.

You say you've already made up your mind, so why should you care what we think?
If you do care, despite acting so stubborn, Goodwill and other charity shops usually check the pockets of donated clothes in case someone has left something in them.
So, this money has come from somewhere else. Maybe someone put it in there to help someone out.
Seems like you are that someone.
You've had good luck! Maybe next time you have a little extra, you can give something to someone else, and make sure the good luck keeps circulating.
Cheers :-)

I am an extremely honest person. In reading this, I asked myself...what would I teach my children in this? It is this. The $20. was a blessing to you, it is rightfuly yours. You bought the jeans, the $ was in the pocket, therefore , it is yours. You may choose to spend the money at the Goodwill store, or you may keep your eyes pealed for the next few days for opportunities to help someone else out. Whatever you give, comes back to you 10 fold. There is no need to be made to feel "guilty" for accepting a gift from the Universe. When money is found, it is simply good luck. You have been blessed by the Universe, be happy and pass that blessing on to someone else. I dopn't mean hand the money to a beggar on the street...but in the near future practice a random act of generosity and kindness. Bless as you have been blessed! Continued Good luck...

I think that it is yours. The Goodwill people didn't find it in the pocket. They sold it with the money in the pocket. You bought the jeans. Whatever is in the pocket is yours.
Suppose someone sells you a set of plates for a dollar. Suppose later on the person who sold you the plates discovers that they were really priceless and worth thousands of dollars. Do you think the seller is entitled to have his money back?
Hell no! Don't you give it back, girl! It's yours!
Have fun with it! It's a gift from God.

Compromise with your Gramma.
Tell the Goodwill you found some money, identify the clothing but not the denomination. Wait thirty days for someone to come forward to claim it.
Or....donate the $20 to your Gramma's favorite charity! Hopefully it's not the Goodwill.

That $20 may have been put there intentionally, considering there is no way to trace it back to the donor. I have been known to do stuff like that just for the fun of it. I would say enjoy the blessing. Your Grandma also has a point. If it bothers you then you might want to call the store and ask them about it. I seriously doubt they would take it back. If you call I would be prepared to surrender your $20 though.
So to answer your question. Nope. I do not think it is dishonest.

It actually belonged to the original donor, and likely was left there inadvertently. Goodwill obviously did not account for it as a cash donation, and would likely have no way of returning the cash to its original owner, so it 's found money. A large sum which might be missed and searched for I would turn in to the police. But don't cross your Gramma!

Your decision not to return the money doesn't speak well of your character. Your Gramma is right. Return it because you don't know but what the people who donated the jeans also donated the money as an extra gift which Goodwill failed to find.

It doesn't belong to the goodwill it belongs to the person who donated them to the goodwill because I hope the people who work there dint try them on and stuffed 20 dollars in the pockets...i doubt it. I feel you should keep it.
