Your pooch probably needs a dental cleaning. He could also have a rotten tooth (or teeth) that needs to be extracted.

You are supposed to brush its teeth with doggie toothpaste and a toothbrush or fingerbrush every day or at least twice a week. This helps a lot with the bad breath. Just don't use human toothpaste, there are ingredients in it that can be fatal to dogs.

Also using dental treats help two. My dog likes Greenies or Freshies. They work really good on her teeth and she has gotten where she looks forward to it every day. She also likes the edible Nylabones. Also there are recipes out there for treats you can make for you dog that help with bad breath too. Things like fresh mint and parsley help with bad doggy breath.

Just do not give her raw hides, my vet said they are very bad for dogs, not only because of the crap they are made with, but also because they tend to chew off pieces of them and swallow it, if they get lodged, then they have to surgically remove it...not fun.

There are so many things that will help with bad breath, so you should not have a problem. Even if you cannot get your dog to let you brush its teeth, then just putting some doggie toothpaste in it's mouth will help with the breath. But you really should brush if you can, it'll keep from tarter buildup forming, and will lessen the chance of peridontal disease and the need for getting her teeth cleaned as often.

Good luck. Dogs are such a joy.

You can brush his teeth and also apply an enzyme based product either to the teeth or as an additive to the water, this will help break down build up and protect the teeth from future build up. Do this in junction with dog treats and chews these will help keep the teeth clean as well. If you have an older dog, there are health and oral reasons your dogs breath could smell so a vet should be consulted.

Usually bad breath is caused by baterica and tarteder. Brush your dogs teeth a couple time to see it that works. If that doesn't work take your dog the vet to a her/his teeth checked. Also i read in a maginzene to avoid doggie mints

I just had a teeth cleaning done on one of mine. She had breath that would stop a mack truck. She now has breath that is nice.
If you can't aford a vet cleaning, then try a product called Plaque Off. It is supposed to remove the tarter from the teeth.

You may want to have his teeth checked first. If this is not a problem there is a product called Oxyfresh. You can put it in their drinking water or directly in the mouth. The vet told me to use it for my dogs after their dental. You can buy it at the vets or on line (it was cheaper on line). I hope you find a solution.

Brush his teeth with doggie tooth paste. Also he may need his teeth scraped by a groomer. Petco sells dog treats that are dentist recommended for bad breath too.
good luck.

Brush his/her teeth daily with dog toothpaste. Do not use people toothpaste.

Buy doggie mints, available in most pet store, and feed them to your dog.

If he has never had a dental cleaning, than it is probably time for one. That is the only way you are going to be able to get all of the placate off of his teeth. It will also make him healthier in the long run, so take him to your Vets and talk to him about having his teeth cleaned.

Is it an older dog? If so, he/she may have tartar build up on its teeth and may need a professional dental cleaning. Tartar harbors bacteria which causes a bad odor. Or, it could be an abcessed tooth. Make an appt with your vet for an evaluation.
