A troll is someone who intentionally posts rude and inflammatory comments rather than reasoned questions and answers. For an example, see Jack's answer above. (And there are "Christian" trolls too.)

A little funny looking person who lives in the forest and keeps up a lot of trouble.
If you mean on yahoo answers it's a person who creates an account for the sole purpose of humor or annoyance.

Anonymous Lutheran and ANTI-CHRIST are right. Trolls also give tons of thumbs down and, the worst part, they target certain users, and report them and their Q&As over and over, until they get them suspended or their accounts deleted. That's why many of us have decided to put our profiles to private. SO sad, this situation!!
