-----Here are some tips for shaving your legs:

*

Do it during or right after a warm shower so the pores that have the hair follicles are larger. Remember the barbers use warm towels for that very reason.
*

Use something to make the skin smoother, such as special shaving foam or gel or just soap bubbles.
*

Use a high-quality razor that is in good shape. It does not have to be the most expensive, but it has to be in perfect condition. Prepare your razor, by running warm or hot water before starting.
*

Before starting, comb the hair with your hand and see how the hair grows. Apply the gel or foam following the hair growth lines.
*

Follow the hair growth line when using the razor. If you do not do it you may get ingrown hairs. They look like bumps and they can be painful. Many women shave doing the exact opposite (it gives a closer shave). If it works for you, that is fine, but it is not the best method for women with sensitive skin. Also if you get frequent ingrown hair, follow our advice.
*

After shaving, rinse with colder water. You do not have to freeze but colder than the one you used in the beginning of your shower.
*

Preferably, you should use some cream without fragrance or color after shaving. Let it dry before getting dressed.

Good Luck !!

Start off in the shower with your normal routine. After you are finished, washing, conditioning and all that it is time to shave. The warm water/mist softens the hair follicles and you get a closer, easier shave with less nicks.
1) Use a new razor or blade
2) Apply shave gel or cream from the ankle to the knee
3) Starting at the ankle, shave upward in one smooth stroke
4) Rinse razor and repeat directly next to where you already shaved, slightly overlapping so as not to miss any hairs
5) Continue until you have removed all the lather with the razor
6) Repeat for other leg
7) Rinse throughly and towel dry
8) Immediately moisturize
If you are shaving the thigh, follow the same steps except start at the knee. If you shave against the grain, meaning the direction your hair grows, you will get a closer shave and have to do it less often. Also make sure to change your razor frequently. I usually use it no more than five times. A dull razor means razor burn and cuts. When you are shaving, remember to just run it over the leg and do not push into youe skin. The razor is very sharp and doesn't need any pressure. Good luck!

1) Sit on or in your bathtub and run water on your legs.

2) Put on the shaving cream or whatever you use on your legs.

3) Shave from the bottom of your calf up to your knee all around. Then shave from above your knee to your thigh if you have enough leg hair to justify shaving above your knee. Some people don't need to.

4) Rinse the shaving cream off and gently towel dry your legs.

5) Apply sensitive cream to your legs after shaving to avoid drying your skin

Plan B: When you can afford to, have electrolysis done on the parts of your body you generally need to shave. Especially if you're young it is worth it if you consider all of the products you will pay for to shave your underarms, legs, bikini line, etc. for the rest of your life. If you have an electrolysis school near, they are less expensive than electrolysis salons.

Since you're probably new to shaving I would get a razor with the soap/shaving cream already attached. All you have to do is add water and shave. The razor is called shick intuition and its about 8 bucks but lasts a while. To use it, get your legs wet, and run the razor up and down your legs, then rinse when you're done. That's all there is to it.
