If so, how were they finally found, and what were your symptoms?

I did not too long ago. I was in the worst pain I ever had in my life! Mine didn't show up and my doctor guessed that it was because there were numerous "grain-sized" stones that were too small for xrays, but just as painful.

Mine came on very strongly and quickly. One minute I was perfectly fine and the next I had a unbearable sharp pain in my right mid back (kindney). I could not sleep and nothing that I did made it more comfortable. I took hot baths to try to soothe it...no help. Over the counter medications...no help. Finally about 4 hours later in the middle of the night I had my fiance take me to the ER. They hooked me up to an IV with pain meds and a saline solution and within 20 mintues I was fine. Then they gave me some really good meds to treat it with and to treat the pain.

My best advice is to get a prescription, then drink as mush water as possible!!! You ahve to flush them out of your system and the more water you drink the faster that will happen and you will be back to normal.

Just a warning, if your stones are small you will not really notice when you pass them, i didnt. It just felt like I had developed a UTI for like 3 days and then it went away. So if this happens don't freak out...nothing else is wrong with you, you are just passing those horrible things.

So sorry and hope you feel better very soon!

Sometimes the stones are small or still in the area of your kidney and don't show up well. That's when your doctor will do an x-ray with a dye after you have "cleansed" yourself with a laxative. The x-ray will work better then. I have one scheduled for Monday as a check to see if all the stones have passed.
Symptoms: usually some blood in your urine and extreme, extreme pain starting near your back and spreading to your side and then to the front near your bladder.
