I do not know where you are getting your information from, but religion usually has the opposite effect.

Would you like to live under a regime like governed the USSRand Moa'ist China. USSR and Mao'ist China outlawed all types of religion.

There have been many atrocities committed in the name of religion; but generally it has helped more people than it harmed.

Do some honest, unbiased, open minded research on the pros and cons of religion.

So said Karl Marx, anyway.
Neither religion nor opium should be illegal. But going around trying to force other people to partake in either should be.

Where a religion opposes reason & free thinking it should be avoided in my opinion!
It is a historical fact that is still relevent today that religion divides more than it unites & is therefore a bad thing that we would all be better off without!

"If Men are so wicked as we now see them with Religion what would they be if without it?"

Supposedly Ben Franklin said that. Makes you wonder. We always think about those who benefit from those who follow blindly, but imagine what some of those people would be doing if they weren't "distracted."

You can't make religion illegal, because as a government official you are using it to get votes.

No it is not true, and neither is your statement. If you witnessed the destruction drugs cause to the little children you would be ashamed of yourself.
