Bi-weekly Gross Pay $765.00

Federal Withholding $85.10

Social Security $47.43

Medicare $11.09

Pennsylvania S/W $23.49

PA SUI $0.69

Net Pay $597.20

These are the numbers for a single person. I like the following site for this information: http://www.paycheckcity.com/netpaycalc/netpayCalcResult.asp

PA tax is 3.07%. And the $52 is an emergency services tax, not a right to work fee.

You'll also pay 1% to your local municipality unless you live in Pittsburgh, or work or live in Philadelphia, then it's much higher.

They will also of course take the normal social security and medicare (total 7.65%) and whatever federal income tax you have deducted depending on your income and what you have on your W-4.

Welcome to PA!

A lot depends on how many exemptions you claim.

If you paid no taxes net last year, you might want to consider "exempting" yourself this year.

I'd also like to take this opportunityto remind you, my dear neighbor, that taxes on personal income are neither legal nor moral.

Enjoy the state!
