corn is not digestible. You are putting your intestines through torture by consuming this food. Do not eat corn.

Here's my suggestions to help stop your discomfort and give you a new way of eating for your problem.

As a general rule, the grain and cereal foods at the top of this list make the safest, easiest, and most versatile soluble fiber foundations for your meals and snacks.

Rice, Pasta and noodles, Oatmeal, Barley, Fresh white breads such as French or sourdough (NOT whole wheat or whole grain)* Rice cereals, Flour tortillas, Soy, Corn meal, Potatoes, Carrots, Yams, Sweet potatoes, Turnips, Beets, Squash and pumpkins, Mushrooms, Chestnuts, Avocados (though they do have some fat), Bananas, Applesauce, Mangoes, Papayas (also digestive aids that relieve gas and indigestion)

*Please choose a baked-daily, high quality, preservative-free brand. White bread does not mean Wonder.

Belly Ache After Eating

Love corn on (or off) the cob and years ago grew my own and ate it within the hour - beautiful..- then some years later ate canned corn and had bellyache - did not connect until it happened again - so stopped eating - until yesterday when my wife had put out canned corn as our veg for a meal.last night at 5pm I could not resist - and just had a desert spoonful. Result was not good - slept ok but all day today have had intermittent stabbing pains in left lower abdomen - was wondering whether I had appendicitis, but recurrence of pain continued but in slightly different and gradually lower areas so realized that it was something passing through and causing pain on the way. Am 100% convinced it was the sweetcorn and will not be tempted again!

You have a intolerance to corn, that simple. There are many people that have this very illness. Don't eat corn unless your willing to pay the price, some people get diarrhea real bad, others like you, just stomach aches.

It shouldn't cause stomach ache.. I eat celery, carrots and lettuce.. is cabbage lettuce? I always thought cabbage is something that is what you can eat hot as a vegetable dish or you mix it up with different things and make it into coleslaw.. well cabbage is something that bloats the stomach.. but not lettuce.. You said Cabbage'' and that's not good to eat raw a lot.. also corn and cucumber and cabbage are things that cause gas in your stomach.. you should not eat too much of that. but normal lettuce or iceberg salad, carrots, even broccoli or cauliflower with a dip and tomatoes are healthy and should not cause you any stomach pain... ''No cabbage'' but lettuce...x Drink ginger tea if you got it or chamomile tea, that will settle the stomach..if you really ate cabbage then your stomach is full of gas and that is what's hurting..it will ''pass''.. Raw vegetables are healthy to eat.. Red peppers have a lot of vitamins as well.. as long as they are properly washed one can and should eat the right kind of vegetables...xx

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

I have the same problem. I just did a search, and it seems like it could be irritable bowel syndrome:

http://www.fda.gov/fdac/features/2001/401_ibs.html
"According to the National Institutes of Health, people with IBS seem to have colons that are more sensitive and reactive than usual, so they respond to stimuli that would not bother most people. Eating, stress, gas, depression, and other ordinary events can cause the colon to overreact. Certain medications and foods, such as milk products in lactose-intolerant people, dietary fats, corn, and wheat, are known to trigger spasms in some people. Sometimes these spasms delay the passage of stool, leading to constipation."

well I have been eating corn with chunky tomato sauce and beans all together with meat and cheese. It never before happened to me. But after the pain and diarrhea for a day, I drunk something for diarrhea, I started eating little of sandwich & drinking water. The next day I went to work and the little pain was still there likes for seconds and disappear and when I have hungry show up little bit, but I'm trying to search if anything else that I did eat that day has something to do with this.

I have a similar response to corn. You might also want to rule out celiac disease. I have it and have the same problem with any flour. If the sugary foods you eat have corn syrup and any such corn deriviative, you will get a reaction if you are allergic. I was told that have IBS (I have Ulcerative Colitis)can make you more susceptible to food allergies such as these.
