It really doesn't make much sense to give an answer that doesn't in any way address the question. In fact, it makes the answerer appear at least borderline retarded. Oddly enough, it has gotten to the point that I can usually guess who will give a left field answer ahead of time. lol

It's all those big words you use... and there's so many punctuation marks. It confuses them.

no it is not required that some of the users post an answer without bothering to read the question.

sometimes the problem is that some people's grammar and spelling are so awful and the question is so unclear that one cannot figure out what the question is (and if they spent some time trying to figure it out they at least want to post on it though some would bypass the question entirely).

i think that is one of the problems with a point system because for some it is just a game or something to do when they are bored. it is too bad there cannot be a place for the bored/ those who want to play games and a different place for those who want serious answers/discussion.

see allexperts seems to be more serious but it does not have the number of hits/ users, categories, resources (that is experts) as yahoo answers. on the bright side, one can usually get a serious noncrappy answer that actually relates to their question and they are supposed to get it within three days. but like i said you are limited to the experts on the site. if your category does not exist or have an expert or they only know about other subcategories then you are out of luck.

best wishes with getting better quality answers to your questions.

I like this question because I myself feel the same way. I have come to the conclusion that most people who answer these questions without really having even a mildly intelligent answer are in fact developmentally disabled and just want to voice an opinion. It's the same as not using spell check and looking illiterate. These things happen, people are stupid, and very rarely really answer a question before thinking of an educated answer.

No. Two points are two points whether you read the question or "not" and I see your point. Some of the answers I have gotten on questions I post seem to be out in left field as though people don't even READ them.....

Well I heard that most definitely was not the case, but only if you exclude chocolate. However, on the off chance it is the third Sunday of the month during a leap year, it is possible to include both chocolate and pineapple, even during an eclipse.

I hope that clears things up.

I'm guessing you foresaw this "left-field answer" but aren't you the twitterbrain who appears at least borderline retarded? Because i went on to the religion and spirituality section of yahoo answers, not yahoo statments.

lol, i have to say after reading your later added details... well done, you are a very clever thought out dude

Yes. I find that usually the answerer will quickly decide if you're atheist or christian, read one sentence, and respond with the same canned answers, even if the other person was being sincere.
