Also, how much does a 20x20 inch PC and a 50 inch widescreen use?

An average CRT tv (not flatscreen) is rated at about 150 watts. This means if you watch it for 10 hours, you use 1500 watt-hours, or 1.5 kW-hrs, which is how they charge for electricity. The average state charges somewhere between 5 cents and 20 cents for electricity, so even if you took 20 cents (which is very high) as your rating, 10 hours of tv would cost you $0.30.

A 50 in widescreen, assuming its plasma (which uses the most power) uses about 330 watts. This means for 10 hours it would cost (.330 kW)(10 hrs)($0.20) = $0.66

The average computer uses less than 100 watts, so this would be somewhere less than $0.20.

Over the course of a year though, if you watch a CRT tv for 3 hours a day average, then it would cost you about $33.

The average TV uses between 200 to 500 watts.

If you want an exact answer go to Best Buy's website and get the specs for the exact size set you are interested in.

Look at the back of the item.
There is a U. L. name plate with the wattage rating.
The size of the unit is not enough.
A plasma screen will draw more than a CRT,
which will draw more than an LCD for the same sizes.
(PS - Your PC monitor is measured horizontally,
it is not 20x20).

Here is the MONTHLY cost based on 6 hours per day. This is for ANY appliance based on watts. You can figure out the per hour cost with a little math. It would be pennies.

100 watt $1.48
150 watt $2.21
220 watt $3.25
350 watt $5.17
