I just saw an ad for Yahoo Personals, and wondered "what did people do before online dating sites.. where do people meet their other 1/2 anyway?"

I've been with my fiance for 3 years. We met on Hotornot.com. The 2nd guy I met on there was him.. his profile was too cute and quirky to pass up. We went to high school together.. but I was his brother's age and he was a bit older.

Well, a little over a year and a half ago I was working two jobs and going to school part time. My full-time job was at a doctor's office as a switchboard operator. I took night classes at my school Monday-Thursday. And on the weekends, I was a Hooters Girl. So, one day my best friend who worked with me at the doctors office told me she wanted to hook me up with a friend of hers and her boyfriend's (now husband). At first I was a little if-y because I'd just gotten out of a long relationship that DID NOT end well (after almost five years, he turned out to be gay... yeah), but she insisted that she bring him by the restaurant one weekend and they all have me as a server. I finally agreed and a week later me and him started dating. We've been together ever since and plan on getting married one day. I'm just really not looking forward to the day our kids ask that age-old question "mommy, where'd you and daddy meet?" LOL!

My fiance and I met on Yahoo!Personals, amazingly enough. We live about 100 miles away from each other, and would probably have never known the other existed without meeting online. I still feel incredibly lucky that we were both using the same site at the same time and that we were able to meet and hit it off. We've been together for about a year and a half, and we're getting married on October 18th, 2008!!! All thanks to Yahoo!Personals! lol :)

We met in an msn chatroom. I was bored and used to chat a lot with different people every day, then delete them, cos I knew a lot of people you meet on the net are weirdos or married, looking for a bit on the side.
Anyways for some reason we chatted for a while and I kept him on my contacts. In fact it was 4 years this tuesday since we first chatted! It took him 3 months to convince me to meet him in person. When we did we started dating, he lived an hour or more away so it was a distance relationship for a couple of years. We built a house a year ago, now live together and are planning our wedding next year.

We met Dec. 12, 1999 on "AOL love.com" and wrote back and forth on-line for 17 months before we met. I'm not sure, but when we first met "She gave me followers, first time to have a Lady give me followers" something just 'clicked' and we've been together every since. OK, I was working in California and she was in Davao, Philippines.

I have learned over the years you aren't looking for an "Other 1/2 per-say" you really need some one to share your happiness, it is 2 complete people coming together as ONE that makes "Life Partners".

I met my husband in high school and we dated for 6 years before getting married. I think most people just had to go out and be even more social before dating sites were around - bars, organizations, work or school, etc.

I met the love of my life in Army Basic Combat Training at Ft. Jackson, SC! A lot of people don't know how that is possible- but we were in the same platoon and just became good friends. We didn't start dating until almost two years later though!

This is an interesting question! What DID people do before the internet! I can't even think that far back...haha..j/k. I met my fiance six years ago on Halloween! My best friend invited one of her friends to come along with us trick or treating and that friend brought my fiance with her! So... you could say I met through a friend of a friend

My husband and I met at work. His best friend told him about a job within my company. He actually came to the wrong area but was hired on. I actually hired him. We didn't exactly see eye to eye right off as a matter of fact I couldn't stand him. Then over Christmas fell madly in love with him and the rest is history
