Okay had a few friends over cooked dinner, got a little tipsy and 3 raw steaks were placed in the fridge uncovered. Didn't notice them until a few minutes ago. They look kinda hard and it's been about 24 hours, I think. Can they still be cooked and consumed? Do I have to throw them out? Can I still cook them and maybe give the cats a treat?

They are fine to eat but will be tough. Use a recipe to add liquid back into them. Something like a stew will work or a recipe in a crock pot, and you won't have to dispose of them

If they were in the fridge I think they're fine. People age beef in the refrigerator all the time. My dad had a roast uncovered in ours for 3-4 days before a holiday and I'm still here.

Now, chicken I wouldn't eat.

Good luck!

whats up i could eliminate it from the marinade because of the fact it may get too salty whilst you're using the soy based marinade. in basic terms positioned it on a plate and cover with plastic wrap very tight and shop on suitable shelf of the refrigerator so it's going to be very chilly. you will discover on the element of the steak how plenty the marinade has penetrated the beef if that's the dark one. I agree greater advantageous secure than sorry. enable it heat up 20 minutes till now putting it on the grill. terrific needs, good success!

Oooh, yuck. I'm not sure if they would be okay but 24 hours uncovered? I would not count them as safe. And in terms of feeding it to your cats - no way. My vet has told me more than once only give your cat - CAT FOOD.

Depending on which section of the fridge you have placed the raw steak. If it is in the freezer it is ok, if it is in the chiller, it is better to dispose them.

Yeah I don't know about it. I don't eat beef every night so I would want it to taste perfect. It should be OK but why risk it, better safe then sorry. gl
