I can't go to the doctor, since I just saw him last month, and I didn't schedule a follow-up visit.

There is no real cure for tinnitus.

You may try playing quiet music at night, to distract you, or get one of those $18 "white noise" machines, like an alarm clock with the sound of the ocean & trees in the wind on it. Those sounds may help you to relax & sleep.

First you need to see an ear specialist for a thorough exam.

My Husband had this for many years. The end result is generally hearing loss. His is 48 percent loss in both ears.

Stop ALL caffeine, he continued drinking coffee for years after being told to stop. After finally stopping the ringing stopped in just a few months.

The solution he used for many years that was somewhat helpful was Timed release Niacin 750 Mg's. It is behind the counter in Pharmacies. Some research may help you on this. I have forgotten if he took more than one a day. The niacin will help flush out the capillaries that apparently get clogged in the ear canals. You will feel a little warm flushing when you take these. But if you help your hearing it is worth it. DO NOT IGNORE THIS OR PROCRASTINATE.

Are you taking aspirin? Sometimes taking too much aspirin can cause ringing in the ears. If so stop taking it and see if it stops. I used to have ringing in my ears until I found out it was caused by too much aspirin.
Also you might want to try earplugs or listening to the tv on low volume at night . If nothing works go see your doctor again and see if there is some kind of medicine he/she can give you.

in a glass of warm water combine apple cider vinegar (2 teaspoons) , 2 teaspoons honey, a drop of lugol's solution, (5% iodine and 10% potassium iodide). Drink. That's what I found good luck. Hope you sleep better.

try eating less salt, eating spicy foods, and staying away from loud concerts and blaring music or wearing earphones and see if it heals by itself.
