I had to go to the ER a couple of days ago and they did an ultrasound and said I have gallstones and set me up an appointment with a surgeon. I was just wondering if anyone had any info on gallbladder surgeon!

A gallbladder surgeon is a general surgeon. A surgeon doesn't need additional training to remove a gallbladder, like you might expect a heart or neuro or brain surgeon to have. Depending upon factors such as the degree of inflammation of gallbladder, the size of stones, etc, the surgeon can decide whether to do an open surgery or laproscopic (or "Bandaid") surgery. Expect to feel 100% better, regardless of which surgery is selected. Your appetite and eating habits might change, too, and you could find yourself wanting food you have never particularly liked over food you couldn't get enough of before. I know that sounds strange, but it is true.

Yes, they won't go away. Keep your appointment. I had mine done this. I went home the same day, was up and about in 1 week. Back to work in three.

They do it a lot simpler than they used to do it.
Nowadays they make a small incision and clip the gall bladder then suck it out with a straw. Just like that.
BINGO!
