I don't "cook" per se but manage to raise a family on quasi- recipes, such as Rice-a-roni with chicken and frozen green beans thrown in, or Soup Starter with frozen peas and a diced potato tossed together. I freeze packets of cooked ground beef to throw a spaghetti dish together in the time it takes to cook the pasta and crack a jar of sauce. Does anyone else "cook" this way and is there a resource with similar ideas (other than kraft.com)? I'm not one to have the likes of cumin, cilantro or other bare ingrediants in the house, so normal "recipes" are rarely helpful. Any pointers would be terrific, thanks.

Go to the Food Network and check out Semi Homemade cooking with Sandra Lee.........She has a philosophy of using 70 % store bought things and 30% pantry staples to create things that truely look homemade.....I've been professionally trained, and a lot of her recipes really work for the busy person with a lot of things going on.......Her way is more of an "assemblage" of already prepared things, but they work out beautifully.......Try it and see if it works for you......Even I, these days as hectic as they are, "cheat" and still take the credit for my creations.....There, now the secret is out!!! Enjoy!!

PS the new crockpot stews and vege mixes out now in the frozen section are great and I also use soups (in the big cans) as bases and add more ham or rice or cheese on top etc. Always have a big bag of shredded cheese and such-also chopped tomatoes-canned. I like them with basil already in or onions, those tuna envelopes are wonderful-as you can keep such as insta meals in your pantry & for add ins too.

Go to the deli and purchase a roasted chicken. Now you have cooked chicken meat to add to every recipe you could think of.

**********CHICKEN AND RICE CASSEROLE
2-3 c. cooked chicken, skinned and boned, cubed or cut into pieces
1 box chicken Rice-A-Roni, cooked according to pkg. instructions
1 c. fresh Parmesan cheese
1 c. sour cream
Mix all together and cook for 30 minutes at 350 degrees in a greased, uncovered casserole dish.

in my opinion i like stir fries, and you will cut up despite veg you adore using like mushrooms, peppers, onions, courgettes, ...the record is infinite, and chop them up in strengthen. positioned them in an hermetic field and theyare waiting to apply once you get in and pass in the present day into the pan and purely take a jiffy to prepare dinner with some clean fowl, beef prawns, despite you fancy. additionally soups are great and could be made in batches and then chilled or frozen, they are very filling too. you may test with all kinds of soups like butternut squash, carrot and coriander, tomato, bean soups or maybe fowl soup, back the record is infinite. you additionally can heat up a cup of your soup for a snack in case you experience hungry and drained between nutrients. yet another selection is do your cooking on the weekend and freeze or kick back it so the sole difficulty you're able to do is pop it interior the microwave once you get abode. this would be pasta bakes, fish pie, stews and casseroles.. all healthful and not one of the sugar and salt and undesirable fat that are interior the conventional waiting meal. one greater tip is often shop frozen veg, lean meat and fish interior the freezer for once you like it. you may defrost it to apply on your arranged nutrients in the process the week, yet you additionally can microwave them from frozen in an emergency and make a splendidly healthful meal. it is likewise good because of the fact the frozen food won't pass previous college like clean chilled food can, and so no longer something is wasted.

You seem to have a good imagination, you probably can do better thinking things out for yourself than trying anything on line. Start using the recipes on the back of the boxes, just substitute what you don't have for what you do have. :)
