Well, let fix it out the amount of everything, so we could come up with your pay. The estimate of room and board for where you are at from my research is about $ 5,820.00 per year, if you are a college kid who lives in the dorm room. Therefore, it will be about $ 112.00 per week for you to live there. If you work 20 hours per day/6 days a week, that would come out to 120 hours per week. If you get about $7 per hour of taking care of one child then you should get about $ 840.00 per week of paid. However, you do have to taking care of two children, so you need to charge more for the service. If you settle for $9.00 per hour for both children then you should get about $ 1080.00 per week. You should get $ 80 per cleaning. If you cleaned two times, a week then it would be $ 160 per week. You should get $ 50 each time you cooked. If you cooked 4 times, a week then it would be $ 200.00.

Your salary should be $ 1440 per week.
Deduct your room and Board of $ 112 per week.
You should get pay or clear out of $ 1328 per week.
Have a nice one day off to do what ever you need to do. Now you know a wife, a mother or a homemaker is priceless to be nice too. Most are working for free.

You really need to ask for more. $100 a week is a rip off for you, they are getting a GREAT deal. Our nanny gets paid $400 a week for a 4 year old and 22 month old. She works 5 days a week, 10 hours a day. She does 2 meals and snacks during the day for the kids and light cleaning. She also takes them out and involves them in activities. I think I would ask for at least $950 a week, depending on how many hours and days you work, and all the house work you do.

Totally taken advantage of-room and board or not who has a job and nets $400 a month?? Even if they were figuring in your board,,in the real world you would not be able to function on $100 a week. I would accept nothing less than $400 A WEEK. If you are working 18 hrs a day/6 days a week thats 108 hrs a week..do you realize you make less than $1 an hour? It amazes me how some people do not value the person caring for their children...much less waiting on them hand and foot by cleaning, cooking and doing their laundry.

Hope's calculating is good but Nanny's don't get paid minimum wage. My first boundrary would be a limitation on hours. Let them calculate the number of hours per week they need you then charge 5.00 per when they go over.( You add the difference when the hours are used up.) then deduct your room and board. You're raising their children with those hours and I'm sure they want to keep you so tell them youv'e talked with others and this is the going rate. What you're making now wouldn't pay for medical insurance. Good Luck!

I am so sorry you've travelled all that way just to get ripped off by a family that doesn't even apparently have time for their own children! There's NO WAY you should be working that much and only be getting paid $100 a week. I'm sure you've become quite attached to the children by now, but my god, the parents need to get a grip! What the hell do THEY do for a living??? They should be ashamed of themselves.

Good luck to you :)

well, if you figured out even minimum wage, say it was seven dollars an hour...it would be more than a hundred dollars a day before taxes...so, I would say at least 600.00 a week, plus all your food, etc...you should leave, there, they are taking bigtime advantage of you. and next time, set your price BEFORE you take the job...those people arent even giving you 2 dollars an hour...

Since you have room and board provided then I would say $100 isn't terrible - except you need to be allowed more time off.
I would say $150 wouldn't be unreasonable as well.
