Hair turned khaki instead of golden blond!!?

Question

Tried to give my hair more of a medium blond tone with L'Oreal Superior Preference #8 & it turned khaki. Am a natural blond but it's faded in the sun. I left the color on 15 minutes then had to wash it out as it was getting darker. It's horrible. Should I wait or try to cover it with another type/color. Help! I have an important meeting Monday.

Use L'Oreal Creme not Superior Preference and leave on the full 25 min, Golden Blonde or Light Golden Blonde
