He goes to bed around 8:30. He sleeps in his toddler bed and wakes up ar between 1 and 3 and cries asking for milk. He normally takes 1 bottle to go to sleep and 1 when he wakes up (around 6:30 am). He takes only one 2 hr nap around noon. I am not sure if his lack of eating a good variety of food is making him to wake up. Anyway, I want him to stay in his room through the night. He's been in the toddler bed since May (almost 3 months). People have suggested to lock the door but I don't want to do that . Please help! Serious answers only, please. Thanks to all.

OK this is what i do with my 19 month old son i put him to bed in between 6 and 7 at night he has dinner around 5.30 - 6 but if he don't eat much for dinner i give him weetbix (3) before bed and the left over milk in the bottle and i have noticed that he sleeps through the night til about 5.30-6 in the morning and if he does wake up through the night i would give him water instead of milk so that he knows that's all he is getting its hard for the first couple of nights but it does work good luck

p.s if all fails i would burn some lavender in his room this will help him relax and it may help him sleep longer as well

Sounds like a normal pattern for a baby who is still on a bottle. Take that sucker away he's a big boy now! Yes he'll be upset, but he'll get over it.

My daughter who turned 3yrs old today once in awhile wakes up at the same time if it's hot in the house. However, I go in her room and tell her to put her head down. She falls right back to sleep. When your son does that tell him no more bottle and go back to sleep. If he cries turn your back! Don't make eye contact, don't smile! If he gets out of bed put him back and tell him to stay in bed and go to sleep! Keep doing this until he finally falls asleep. Yes it's going to be hell on you, but in the long run you'll be thankful

No I'm not cold hearted it just sounds that way lol

stop giving him milk. he should in no way have milk at 3am and again IN A BOTTLE in the morning. You've created a problem. My daughter was off the bottle at 12 months like everyone else. Your kid is now hungry. It will take a while now to get him to go to sleep but refuse to give him a 3am feeding and take the bottle away for good. I'd say at the most a month and he'll be back on track-mind you you HAVE to be consistent.

He is in the habit of waking up and asking for milk. You can put a baby gate on his bedroom door so he doesn't wander around, but just be consistant in putting him back to bed without anything to drink. It will be tough at first, but stick with it and it will pay off.
