You are walking home from church Sunday morning, and accidentally drop your Bible, unnoticing. When you return later in search of the Bible, you view a homeless figure wandering in the oppositte direction, clutching a large book that is obviously yours. Do you:
a) Allow them to keep it, and say nothing.
b) Allow them to keep it, but inform them that it was yours.
c) Ask for them to return it, or
c) Have it legally returned to you; by means of police or similar action?

Stike up a conversation and after you buy them a bite to eat ask them if they know the one who the book is all about.
I guess that would be choice d.

A) Allow them to keep it, and say nothing
I'll go out and buy another Bible. I figure that man could get a lot of use out of my Bible, if not more, than I could.

I crouch down and Follow them Very Discretely, not making any sound (shadow them!), then I look for a large Stick and----JUST KIDDING, I AM JUST KIDDING!!!
I have given Brand New Bibles away!!!
Seriously:
I would go talk to them and find out if their Saved or Not.
If not, I would try to Help Them (it is up to them to say YES to JESUS), but they need to Hear the Plan!
Would probably ask them Why they need the Bible without letting them know it was mine, to see if they need money (if your not agonna READ it, you might try to Pawn it?)
For some Reason they Picked it Up and that would be the Key to my Curiousity.
So I could help them.
Yes, I help street people when Led To.

I don't know what I'd do.
I might say, "Thank you for finding my Bible"
I might invite him home for dinner.
I would figure out if he really wanted to read it or just sell it to buy booze.
Then I would act accordingly.
Pastor Art
PS: I've had a $100.00 leather bible stolen by another pastor, so I've been there.

it depends if the bible had sentimental value or not. if so i would talk to him and explain, and offer to buy him one of his own.
this wouldn't actually happen with a bible because i'm pagan, but you could apply it to any other book that i own.

Say nothing.
What a great way to share God's word.

I would ask to have it back. He is obviously just looking for some toilet paper.
