ok. How is it ruining your life? Delusions(any kind),Feeling disconnected with people,"Inappropriate emotions"?,Magical thinking?Loner? If I am correct Schizotypical is closely associated with Schizophrenia. If you have realitives with this disorder, Your chances of inheriting All of the above are great. HOWEVER, In order to be "diagnosed" with a personality disorder, You have to have been experiencing these symptoms for at least a few years.Anything you could do to help yourself? Only you know how severe the symptoms are, and if they are interfering with your ability to live a "normal" life. If you can't hold a job, maintain relationships of any kind, take care of your daily hygiene etc. Then your best bet IS to seek professional help. You saw that coming, am I right?

How old are you? A personality disorder cannot be given until at least age 17. If you have schizoid or shizotypal traits, I wouldn't worry about it. Most people can identify with several different personality disorder traits but that doesn't mean they have a personality disorder.

Go and get help from a proffessional before it becomes any worse. If you do this now it will be so much easier to fix.
Knowing that you have a problem also helps, so I'm sure it's nothing you can't fix since you know you have a problem.

Personality disorders do not have to ruin your life. You need some therapy to help ypu deal with the challenges you may face, routine to keep you focused and on track, sometimes medication to allow you room to breathe, and to allow you to be open to change, and friends. You may want to find a group to help you work on social skills, as having a personality disorder often makes it harder to focus on things and people outside yourself, and it is essential that you learn that it is NOT all about you. once you figure that out, life will be easier, and you willhave room for happiness in your life.

don't ever label yourself. It could very well cost you a career and good income if you do that. If you have a question and need a psychologist then set an appointment for that. Don't let anyone tell you you need to see a psychiatrist. Make sure the person you do see is not a doctor.

If you have those you probably tend to be shy. You can practice having short, and then longer, conversations with people, until you can converse easily with people. If you tend not to trust others, start by trusting people with just some info. about yourself, and see if you don't get hurt. If it's OK, try trusting them with more & more personal info. about your feelings. After a while, you may have several good friends!

See a psychologist or a therapist. That's your best bet if you really do match those disorders.

Don't try to self-diagnose. Let the professionals do that. You can be helped. Call your doctor.
