It'll take years to get us out of this mess, if we acutally can. We need a democrat back in that's the only time we stay above things. The Repulbicans always get us in deep.

Not unless everything is handled properly like bringing back the army from Afghanistan and Iraq, don't fight terrorism by using guns and jets versus them using bombs strapped to young people, but by having talks with the leaders of the terrorist groups...
If US really wants to win against terrorism and make sure there are no attacks in the country then the only way is to call the leaders of the terrorist groups and they and the president and his assistants sit and talk in a neutral country, find out what the terrorists want and how can they stop the terrorism, and do this without the inclusion of UN...
There are a lot of ways to end terrorism in the world without fighting...

We should have just cut and run. Why bother fixing it? It's obvious the Iraqi's don't want us there, they even kill each other among themselves! They have a tribe to be loyal too, than to their religion, than to the entire country...that's why there are tons of suicide bombings, IED's, etc. Even if we stay a hundred years, they will continue doing killing each other like crazy. It's not political thing, hell not even religious..it's loyalty to your clan and that's why when we leave Iraq it will be divided into many countries. It's inevitable for sure..Saddam kept them all in check because of the way he ran things (torture, etc fear you get the picture)..they get one glimpse of freedom and what do they do? Kill themselves! It's best we leave them to their own devices and figure out what they really want to do...but Iraq was never about nation building or taking a dictator out of power for the Bush administration...it was all about the $ since the beginning...and don't tell me a Democrat will do better...Hillary, Obama, etc are all kissing Zionist butt and they'll do their bidding. I think you should have asked..when are Americans going to wake up?

I think Ron Paul is the man to fix the problem. He has too much integrity to be bought by special interests.

"Mended?" No. Almost 4000 American servicemen have died, and their families will never fully recover. Then factor in the servicemen who have lost limbs or suffered brain damage, and those of our allies. Then factor in the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis (many or most of them innocent) who have died, and the tens of thousands who are now refugees.
HOWEVER--we can start over from where we are, if we only have a leadership who puts humanity above profits. As they say in the old West: If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is, STOP DIGGING.
