He might be use to you taking him at that time, and that might be the time that he usually goes, and got use to it. If you don't take him, he might pee..but if you keep changing the time even just by minutes each day or week it might help.Hope that helps and good luck.

He has trained you well :-) He thinks that you will get up when he barks, and maybe he associates going to pee in the morning with getting breakfast. So he thinks that if he barks, you will get up, let him out, and then feed him. So you have to break that cycle. I have some suggestions, but you'll have to match it to your lifestyle.
1. Stop feeding him early. Try to feed him at 9am or whenever is convenient... He will bark to complain... ignore him.
2. However, when he barks to go pee, you have to let him out, or risk UNhouse-training him. But when you let him out... can you leave him out ? He might not like that...
3. See if you can let him out at exactly 7am every day for a week. Then, let him out at 7:15am everyday, regardless of when he barks (but you have to watch him to make sure he doesn't go inside. And keep moving the time 15 min. every week... until you get to the time that you want... then you might feed him at that time.... and be very consistent, because dogs CAn tell time.

You probably can't. He likes the outdoors in the morning and his bladder is full and when he comes in he wants his breakfast. Listen to yourself or those you know. When they get up in the morning, they rush to the bathroom and if someone is there first, they yell throught the door and tell them to hurry up. No different with a dog. They also go into the kitchen and ask the cook what's for breakfast, I'm hungry. Also no different for your dog.

Our dogs do the same thing, they have me trained really well. I even get up during the night to take them out if they have to go, cause if they have to "go" its cruel to make them wait. One of them barks every morning at 5 to go out. Its a dog's life...

are you sure he is barking for food??? Barking to go pee is probably normal cause they probably got to go. You can potty train in the house to pee in a place you want it to, but i guess that too late to teach him. You should probably get a doggy door so he can go in or out of the house.

well thats when he has to pee. it would be like telling you to not to pee when you felt you had to.
dogs get into routines. you can slowly try adjusting it by not going to let him out for a minute after he barks, or you can just get up and let the poor boy out to do his business.
my pups get up at 430 every morning. because thats when we get up for my husband to go off to work, guess what they dont know what saturday means, and that on saturdays i would like to sleep in. nope they know that at 430 they have to pee.
so i get up. i take them out, and we go back and lay down until its breakfast time, which they also know very well when it is. regardless of what day of the week it is
