Do you mean, why would "atheist" be a sort of subcategory to "Christian" in a reference book?

If so, it's because only Christians use that concept.

"Atheist" means a person who does not believe in God (that is, God with a capital G, which (who?) is what Christians believe in).

Buddhists don't believe in God either, but they are not usually called "atheists." They simply belong to another religion.

Normally, the term "atheist" is only used for a person who comes from a predominantly Christian culture, but denies the existence of the Christian God.

Get a better pair of glasses, LOL! Christian section, do you really think they would waste that much space on Christians?

Why are there Christians in the Buddhist section? Watch the film "El Topo" by Alejandro Jodorowsky and you'll understand how silly all this "my God's better than your God" business really is.
