This question gets asked a lot, you might try looking at some other answers for additional methods.

Here's the basics if the original has the color you want (the sneakers in this case):

1. Duplicate the background layer

2. Go to Image -> Adjustments -> hue/saturation and desaturate until it is black and white

3. Use the eraser tool to erase the B&W layer to show the color below.
